Zell am See seems very Swiss. Extremely beautiful, train station right in the middle, cute, very clean, and probably expensive.

Apple is no longer including stickers with their computers (probably a good thing, they’ve been working for a while to really reduce packaging waste).

I watched "Let the River Flow" (2023) yesterday. I know very little about Sšmi or Norwegian history, so I can't speak to its accuracy. Still, its themes of discrimination, resource extraction, language, culture, and relation to the land and community strongly resonate with the recent history of colonialism in North America. Plus, it's a visually beautiful film.

OK, who forgot to tell the weather that it's a Bank Holiday weekend and that by all the known laws of gods and men it's supposed to be wet & miserable.
In fact it's been beautifully sunny and warm and we've spent the day being decadently lazy. We met up with some friends for coffee and lunch at Cedar Farm near Ormskirk - a place full of beautiful (and expensive!) art, jewellery, ceramics and the like.
Then popped over to Formby to try to spot red squirrels but they must have all been in their nests raising babies.
And we've spent the evening sitting in the garden keeping the cat company.
All in all a very twee and middle class Bank Holiday Sunday, but oh so relaxing.

And - just to keep up with today's "adventures" 😄 - after a very wet lunchwalk and a veeeeery long and energy consuming meeting - I decided that I want to have just an evening walk.
No big sports, no running or cycling. Just getting out, having some fresh air and seeing a bit of a #sunset.
And I was rewarded with lush green, beautiful sky, gorgeous

Spent this weekend in the Lüneburger Heide. It was a very strange light, but great conditions for a long walk. Not too hot, not too cold, with a light wind. Really, quite beautiful, even if the Heather was not in bloom.

I’ve been trying very hard to come up with link beteeen the magnetic fields generated by the black hole at the center of our galaxy (that generate the beautiful pattern of polarized light shown here), and the magnetic fields generated by the human brain that I measure in my neuroscience research, but I’m at a loss. I hate cars enough to miss out on some experiences. But I get different experiences as a result. Instead of driving 2-3 hours out of town to go on a hike, I know the Inner Bay Area hikes that are BARTable/bikeable very well; people with cars are impressed I know so many beautiful spots they'd never heard of that are right her…

We are just back from another nice 42km #cycling loop. Lots of headwind, lots of up and down and a little mistake in starting the tour at the highest point of the loop. The final, long ascent was a bit... Not so much fun.
But the views were just ace, more streets than yesterday but very few traffic! I was rather happy to have sun cream today.

Grand Canyon walk during Easter! There were so many stairs but it was a beautiful walk! Very much enjoyed it.

Walked from Mallnitz-Obervellach station first to the Tauern Tunnel southern portal and watched some trains entering and exiting. Then on to Stappitzer See (lake). Very beautiful place. And I had it almost entirely to myself. Shot some drone photos and videos. #Interrail

Hi friends!
Legs were a bit sore today so we chose a #cycling day. Not much elevation end also not very fast but 2h of nice #mountainbiking to the #sylvenstein for a beautiful view.

I have a son turning 18 tomorrow. He is #autistic, #aspie, #bipolar, and has #tourettes. It's a beautiful combination of conditions, but as you can imagine, it doesn't set him up for success in the social skills department.
Now he's turning 18 and has very few people turning up as his party. What can I do as a dad to help? There's the "fix it" side of me that wants to get creative on ways to get people to his party. But I don't know if that will make things worse.
I'd love to hear from others #neurdivergent and #actuallyautistic folks.
EDIT... Sorry I forgot to mention that my son has complained about how few people are coming. So I do know he wants more people.
